There’s a lot going on right now . . .
A new Single, “Thank You” out May 8!
A 40-track expanded reissue of our debut album on vinyl + 2 CDs.
A brand new Double Album coming in fall 2020.
Let’s break it down.
- May 8, the band will release its first new song since Trespassing in 2018. It’s first fruits of sessions in August 2019 and March 2020. It could be the most openhearted thing the band has ever recorded. Read about it in Brooklyn Vegan!
- In June, we will officially release the reissue of SQUARE—the band’s 1997 debut album. Crowdfunded by fans on Kickstarter (thank you!) the deluxe package includes a freshly remastered version of the original album on 180g vinyl plus 2 CDs with the remastered album, bonus tracks, alternate mixes, and 4-track demos. 40 tracks tell the story of how we evolved from Allen Clapp and His Orchestra into The Orange Peels.
- When we set out to make a new record in 2019, we wrote, swapped files, and finally got together in August to record together. We almost finished the record a few months later, but scheduled an additional session for March 2020 to tidy up loose ends and maybe add a couple new ideas to the mix. What happened was that during the session, the world began to change—schools were closing, people were getting ill, and COVID-19 was becoming a worldwide pandemic. We did our best to keep our focus, and not spend too much time flipping out. What resulted was an entire extra album of material. You’ll find out more about that as time goes by. Stay safe, and stay tuned.
