July, She Will Fly

As Art Garfunkel sings it, “July, she will fly, and give no warning to her flight.” We find this to be true. Having a little respite from our May and June shows, it’s been nice to spend a few weeks beginning to write new songs, traveling along the coast and getting ready for a busy August.

Before the month is over, we’re playing for the first time in San Francisco since our dual sell-out record release shows—tomorrow night, in fact—at one of our favorite local clubs, Bottom of the Hill. Along for the adventure are new friends Vela Eyes and longtime chums The Corner Laughers.

Before the night is over, we’ll be doing a live, on-air interview on Radio Valencia‘s Baghdad by the Bay show, around 8:40 p.m. July 25. Tune in and see what transpires. I can’t tell you what that might be, because we have no idea ourselves.

For a dreamy California summer month, there’s actually been a surprising amount of behind-the-scenes activity, including a great new review at Dirty Impound, a super nice feature story in the San Jose Mercury News (which also appeared in the Contra Costa Times, the San Mateo County Times and the Oakland Tribune), and plans for our next tour!

A sneak preview of what’s happening: opening for Foreigner at the Mountain Winery, shows in Chicago, Minneapolis, St. Louis and more surprises on the way.
