We’re so happy to announce our record release show in San Francisco at Cafe Du Nord on May 17th. Our friends The Ocean Blue will be joining us for the evening, making it an especially sublime night of music. We also have the wonderful DJ Rubberband Girl spinning interstitial soundscapes.
Be sure to get tickets early. This is gonna be crazy!
Advance tickets are positively a steal at $12.50 and $15 at the door.
It’s great to be playing with The Ocean Blue again! We’ve done several shows with the boys from Hershey, PA—starting when we were still Allen Clapp & his Orchestra and opening for TOB on their “See” tour at Bimbos in San Francisco. We later went on to play east and west-coast shows with them in the early 2000s when we had just released our second album, “So Far” and The Ocean Blue had just put out “Davy Jones’ Locker.”
Other Orange Peels-Ocean Blue connections: Ocean Blue guitarist Oed Ronne was a member of the Orange Peels for several years in the mid-2000s, co-writing a number of songs with me and recording and touring with the band on our third album, “Circling the Sun.” He was also a key member on the band’s 2009 album, “2020,” co-writing songs, crafting arrangements and contributing guitars, keyboards and vibes.
On the Ocean Blue’s “Waterworks” EP (2004) I got the opportunity to mix several of the final tracks and co-wrote the song “Golden Gate” with David.
So it’s apropos that we’re playing together again in 2013. We both have new albums out once again. The Ocean Blue releases “Ultramarine” later in March, and we’re releasing “Sun Moon” on May 14. We look forward to seeing you at the show!
